For our readers in the Seoul area, we would like to highlight an ongoing speaker series put on by the North Korea Strategy Center (NKSC), a NGO run by Aquariums of Pyongyang author Kang Chol Hwan. You can find their Korean website here, and the English Facebook page here.
Entitled “Strategies for Change: A Speaker Series on North Korea”, NKSC’s three-month series aims to improve understanding of North Korean issues among Korea’s international and expat community. “Strategies for Change” will feature nine speakers every Wednesday from 7:00 PM – 9:00PM. Each month will focus on a different theme: March covers North Korea basics; April focuses on Human Rights; May finishes with speculation on North Korea’s future.
Coming up on Wednesday, March 19th Daniel Pinkston from the International Crisis Group will be speaking on the topic of “Understanding North Korea’s Nuclear Ambitions: Songun and the Pyongjin Line”. Details and all information necessary to attend are contained in the invitation below. Also on the horizon, Kim Kwangjin will be giving a talk on March 26th covering the North Korean economy, which should no doubt be fascinating given his first-hand knowledge.
