We would like to get the word out that two events of interest are coming up early next week in Washington, D.C.

First up, HRNK and The Foreign Policy Initiative are holding a panel discussion on North Korea’s Human Rights Violations: “What Next After the U.N Commission of Inquiry?” on Monday, March 24th. Senator Patrick Leahy and Senator Marco Rubio will make opening remarks, and the panel includes North Korean defector Lee Hyeonseo, HRNK Executive director Greg Scarlatoiu, HRNK Board Member Roberta Cohen, and author of Escape From North Korea, Melanie Kirkpatrick.

The event will begin at approximately 2:45 pm in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, Room 106. If you would like to attend, RSVP below using the Foreign Policy Initiative website provided here.

Secondly, Congressman Charles Rangel and Gyeonggi Province will be jointly hosting a photo exhibition entitled “Two Lines: Korean Demilitarized Zone & German Green Belt” on Tuesday, March 25th. The exhibition will feature a collection of photographs from 100 photographers to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Korean War Armistice Agreement.

“Two Lines” will be held at the House Ways and Means Committee Room of the Longworth House Office Building in Washington, D.C. at 5:30 pm. For those who plan to attend, please send an RSVP email to Ji-young Soh (International Affairs Office of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government) at liz7942@gmail.com .
